Extract the I5COMP.ZIP <GameDir>/CRO directory. Open a DOS-Box and change directory (CD) to <GameDir>/CRO . Execute/Start the CRACK.BAT file to remove the CD Check from: DV.EXE Play the Game!

Backup Instructions :
Create the following temporary directories:
TempDir#1 : C:\TEMP\CD TempDir#2 : C:\TEMP\AUDIO TempDir#3 : C:\TEMP\CAB
Copy all files from the original CD to TempDir#1 except for these files:
cd.idx amazon.gdb db.gdb dv.gdb mentor.gdb pimmons.gdb Sajiki.gdb TUTORIALS.gdb
Open the *.idx and the *.gdb files (see above) with a HexEditor and saveTempDir#1 . Extract all 9 Audio Tracks to TempDir#2 . Copy the DATA1.CAB file from TempDir#1 to TempDir#3 . Extract the DV.EXE file from the File Archive to TempDir#3 . Extract the I5COMP.ZIP TempDir#3 . Open a DOS-Box and change directory (CD) to TempDir#3 . Remove the Read-Only attribute from DATA1.CAB : attrib -R DATA1.CAB Execute: i5comp d DATA1.CAB DV.EXE This will delete the original DV.EXE file from the DATA1.CAB file. Execute: mkdir bin Execute: copy DV.EXE bin Execute: i5comp a -g0 -r data1.cab bin This will add the fixed DV.EXE file in the DATA1.CAB file. Replace the DATA1.CAB from TempDir#3 with the one in TempDir#1 (located in the SETUP directory). Create a Mixed-Mode CD-Image and burn the contents of TempDir#1 (Data track) & TempDir#2 (Audio Tracks) to a 74 minutes CD-R and use this CD-Label: Die Völker Play the Game!
NOTE: Make a backup of the original DATA1.CAB file for future patching!

Use the Die Völker [GERMAN] 1:1 CD-Copy Install the game. Extract the CRACK.EXE patch to the game directory (in same directory as DV.EXE ). Execute the patch to remove the protection check. Copy the DieVölker.ini file from the WINDOWS directory to the game directory (in same directory as DV.EXE ). Play the Game!

NOTE: Use an 80 minutes CD-R or OverSize
In some cases it is better to use the CD-Writer as Source CD-Reader as it is usually better able to read unreadable sectors.
